Solidarity

If you ever visit the game reserves of Africa, you are certain to see zebras. This group is from the Maasai Mara, a true wildlife paradise, which I have visited on numerous occasions. They are Burchell's zebras, known also as Plains zebras and are very common in the Mara. They are often seen in large herds, where they feel safer than if they are alone, hence the title of the painting, "Solidarity." Any species of zebra makes for an interesting art subject; due to all those graphic stripes. As ever, my paintings are from my own experiences and these are a small part of a large herd, showing some interesting interaction.
