I have painted a similar scene to this in the past. It is the Maasai Mara, Kenya, and shows three of the many zebras which are everywhere. There is a connection of sorts with my paintings of Bahati, the leopard. These zebras were splashing about in the water right behind us when I was photographing Bahati. I have become aware, on many occasions, that most people on safari seem to be focusing almost entirely on the cats. There is more to see than cats! I think I was the only one who swung around to observe these zebras. I caught them just before they were spooked by something (probably me!) and then ran out of the water, hence the splashing. Moments after this scene, they were gone.
