Chital Deer

Ranthamborre Tiger Reserve, India, on the same safari as when I encountered the famous
Arrowhead tigress. Chital are one of the main prey species of the tigers. There are many
beautiful sights in Ranthambore as well as tigers, many of which are missed by visitors due
to the obsession with tigers. The scenery, too, is stunning. Many lakes and swamps provide
perfect backdrops to the main subjects. These chital were at the edge of one of the lakes as
we drove past. The light and cool reflection from the lake behind was stunning and I knew I
would paint them as soon as I returned home.
