There is a camp in the Lower Zambezi in Zambia, called Old Mondoro. It is on the edge of the river and one of the best camps I've stayed at. This painting is from a canoe safari along the quiet tributary rivers in the area. There is nothing to beat the tranquility and beauty of these backwaters; you really do feel like you are in the heart of a wilderness. The painting is a late afternoon scene, when we saw two elephants just browsing at the edge of the river. The thing that blew my mind was the light. Africa at its best.
