Robert Willoughby of Hull was a late 18th early 19th century British marine painter who specialized in large marine genre paintings. His naive style is unmistakable and his works are usually unsigned. Typically the subject matter of his paintings are ships at work but his most desirable paintings depict whaling vessels and Arctic scenes.
