A painter of sporting subjects in oil and watercolour, Michael Lyne was born in 1912 in Upton Bishop in Herefordshire and studied at the Cheltenham School of Art. He illustrated many books and both wrote and illustrated Horses, Hounds and Country. Michael exhibited in London but lived much of his life in Cheltenham.
