Gabriel Deschamps, a renowned French artist born in 1919, is known for his expressive paintings of Mediterranean landscapes and serene village scenes. His paintings are distinguished by their impressive use of light and colour, capturing scenes of Southern France with spectacular quality. With an ability to bring an authentic sense of life to his paintings, he mastered and refined his skills to create pieces with fluid brushwork and vibrant hues. His evocative works are celebrated by a vast range of people, with his paintings being sold to many collectors in the United Kingdom.
Deschamps was drawn to art from a young age, inspired by the works of impressionist and post-impressionist painters. He pursued his interest at the École Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, later becoming a State Art Professor and a regular exhibiter and member of the Paris Autumn Salon. He held one-man exhibitions in Paris, Algiers, Oran and Casablanca, as well as his work being represented in important private collections in Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, USA and Argentina.
