Born in Shrewsbury in 1949 David Fowles initially trained as a civil engineer before going on to teach religion and art, and later paint full time. As a young man David was a keen fisherman and spent many days playing on the banks of the River Severn. He is passionate about Shrewsbury and this setting has always been a strong inspiration for his paintings, predominantly landscapes and river scenes.
