The artist draws significant influence from the rhythm of the four seasons - their hues, moods, and forms; while also responding to their rapid and alarming transformation over recent decades. Recent series such as Amazon, Mohave, and Alpine Waterfall are poignant explorations of Earth’s most awe-inspiring yet endangered environments. Through these works, David seeks to honour and preserve the memory of places under threat, translating urgency into luminous form. At the heart of his evolving practice, the Hydrangea series stands as a touchstone: a symbol of stillness and resilience, originally conceived during a quiet walk through a Suffolk park.
